Travelin' Man

"He went to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him, and was expecting a child." "Joseph and Mary took Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord." Are you traveling this Christmas? Traveling seems to have become a tradition. We get in the car and go to Grandma's house and visit with our family. What a wonderful time it is. Have you ever wondered how this all got started in the first place?

Consider the first Christmas. Jesus began traveling before he was born. He went with Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem, then he traveled to Jersualam to be presented at the temple. He traveled to Egypt as they sojourned there to protect Him from those who were seeking to kill Him. Then he traveled back home. This was not the extent of Jesus traveling. He travelled throughout his life and his earthly ministry.

Jesus was a travelin' man from the beginning. It was not an easy life for the Savior. His sacrifice on the cross started in Bethlehem--at His birth. He willingly gave up His title as "Prince of heaven" to become our "Prince of Peace".

As you travel this Christmas, remember the tiny king, who gave us His all even on that first Christmas so long ago.
