![]() ~ Matthew 8: 23-26 ~
We all have storms in our lives. The waves come crashing against your boat with insatiable force. The water covers the boat like a suffocating blanket. The pain so intense, you cannot see. The roar of the wind, so loud you cannot hear. You feel you may succumb to the stirring waters all around you. You're frightened. You're confused. You're helpless. You're strength is all but gone. This storm is too encompassing and you are too far out at sea for anyone to hear you. In spite of it all, you make one valiant effort to cry for help. No one hears you for the storm. How will you ever make it through this life crisis? Just like those early disciples, we are not often aware that help is close at hand. We fret and worry. We fuss and scream and carry on like faithless children. We rely on our own strength and abilities to get us through a tough situation. We forget that Help is right in the midst of the storm. All we have to do is call His name and He will answer. His immediate response is to quell our fear and inspire our faith. No matter what life throws at your boat, Jesus will get up and rebuke the wind and waves. His desire is for your good. He wants to give you peace in every circumstance. Stop fretting and call on Him today. He is the peace in the midst of your storm.
