Anna was a widow of eighty four years. She was a prophetess who never left the temple and worshipped there day and night. Anna spent her time fasting and praying.

Seeing Mary and Joseph and probably hearing the conversation between them and Simeon, Anna went to them and immediately gave thanks to God and began telling all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

Anna's actions are a source of inspiration and an example to all who love Jesus Christ. The very first thing Anna did upon seeing the child was to thank God for Him--she prayed. Second, she began to share the gospel with all she knew--she testified. Anna didn't hold back and savor the moment for herself. Like the shepherds at the stable, she began immediately to speak of Jesus - the promised redemption.

Are you like Anna? Does the sight of the Savior so thrill you, that you immedately begin to pray and thank God for Him? Does the thought of Jesus as your redemption so excite you that you begin telling of His great love, to others? If not, why not? If so, Bravo! May you continue to be like Anna and share the good news of Jesus this Christmas and all year through!
