A Great Light

"The people walking in darkness have seen a great light ."
~ Isaiah 9:2~

Darkness. Void of light. Light. Void of darkness. Without light we cannot walk, we cannot see. The prophet Isaiah points out there will be no more gloom in the northern region of Israel that had been darkened by the Assyrian armies. A discipline at the hand of God. This land would one day see a great light in the person of Jesus Christ. It is here, in the northern region that Jesus was born, raised and ministered. His ministry reaches far beyond the borders of Israel. He reaches all the way to you.
Are you walking in darkness this Christmas? It is said that depression increases during this time of year. Many are without loved ones, homes, finances. Others cannot see their way clear to move on from a difficult illness or painful situation.
Perhaps you are one of those people and like the northern region of Israel, you are walking in darkness. Take heart! There is a light. A very special light. Look up! He's waiting to shine on you.He will lift your burdens and carry them on his own back. He will carry you until you can walk on your own. He is the promise of the Davidic Covenant. He is the honor to the Gentiles. He is Jesus, the Savior.
